PR in Canada
Canadian buyers check you against Canadian sources. A feature in a US business title does less than people expect for a company whose customers, partners and regulators are in Toronto, Vancouver or Montreal, because Google weights results toward the searcher and because Canadian readers know which mastheads are theirs.

What we cover here, and what we do not
Our Canadian network is unusual in one respect worth stating up front: almost all of it is one publisher. National Post, Financial Post, the Sun papers, the Calgary Herald, the Edmonton Journal, the Ottawa Citizen, the Montreal Gazette, the Vancouver Sun, The Province, the Windsor Star, The Star Phoenix and the Leader Post are all Postmedia titles, along with Canada.com and Canoe.com. That is a strength, because these are genuine newspapers with real newsrooms rather than content sites with newspaper-sounding names. It is also a fact you should know rather than discover, because you are not choosing between twenty independent outlets. Elle Canada and Elle Quebec sit outside that group. We do not place in The Globe and Mail, the Toronto Star, CBC, CTV, Global News or La Presse, and nobody sells those for a fee.

Common questions about PR in Canada
How do you get featured in Canadian media?
You pick the titles you want from our Canadian network, tell us your story through a short questionnaire, and our editorial team writes the feature. Nothing goes live until you have read it and approved it, and we handle the placement with the publication.
Can you get me into The Globe and Mail, the Toronto Star or CBC?
No. The Globe and Mail, the Toronto Star, CBC, CTV, Global News and La Presse are not part of our network. Those are earned coverage only, and an offer to guarantee any of them for a set fee is describing something other than what you think you are buying.
Which Canadian publications can Publisive place features in?
National Post and Financial Post, the major city dailies including the Toronto Sun, Vancouver Sun, Montreal Gazette, Calgary Herald, Edmonton Journal and Ottawa Citizen, the regional papers in Windsor, Saskatoon and Regina, the Canada.com and Canoe.com portals, and Elle Canada and Elle Quebec on the lifestyle side.
Why are so many Canadian newspapers owned by the same company?
Canadian media ownership is unusually concentrated. Postmedia owns the National Post and Financial Post along with most of the major city dailies, which means several titles on our list belong to one group. These are still real newspapers with real newsrooms, but it is worth knowing you are not choosing between twenty independent publishers.
Do you have to be a Canadian company to be featured in Canadian press?
No. What matters to a Canadian editor is whether the story means something to a Canadian reader. We regularly place businesses based elsewhere that are entering the market, hiring in Canada, or want to be visible to Canadian customers and partners.
Reach the people who are actually in Canada
Tell us your market and what you want to be known for. We will recommend the publications that fit, and say so if none of them do.
