Mayer's Harvest
How Gabor Oszter brought Mayer's handcrafted Hungarian syrups to North America, profiled on MSN among five founders.
Read the published articleBackground
Gabor Oszter has been building businesses since he was 12, including a greeting card company and a call center company. He founded Mayer's Harvest, which brings syrups from Mayer, a family producer in Hungary, to North America. The syrups are made from real fruit, purified water, pure sugar and a touch of lemon juice, and ship directly from a New Jersey warehouse and an Amazon store.
The brief
The story involves two businesses, a family producer in Hungary and Gabor's company bringing its syrups to North America, so it had to be clear how they relate. It also had to explain why bars, restaurants and breweries buy a syrup that has no distributor.
How we approached it
The profile follows the relationship behind the brand: Gabor being served Mayer's ginger syrup, meeting the owner, and being told to check back in a year and a half. The ingredients, the awards and the direct-shipping model follow as what came of that relationship. The piece was approved before it went live.
What it does now
The profile is live on MSN with Gabor named as founder of Mayer's Harvest, and gives bars, restaurants and breweries a published account of where the syrups come from and how they are made.
What a feature does, and what it does not
A published article is not a lead generation channel and we will not pretend otherwise. What it does is change what exists when someone looks you up: a real, dated, indexed piece on a publication, written about your work, that keeps surfacing long after it ran.
That matters at the moment someone is deciding whether to take you seriously. It does not replace having something worth writing about.
